Import Contacts from Yahoo , MSN or Hotmail to Gmail

Gmail is now taking more and more share in email market. To increase share Gmail now introduce new option for emailers, Gmail now migrates email and contacts from other email providers, including Yahoo, Hot-mail, AOL, and many more. It’s much easier to make the transition now that you can bring along all your old email and contacts. You can even have your messages forwarded from your old account for 30 days, giving you time to take Gmail for a test drive while you make up your mind.

This new feature is available in all newly-created Gmail accounts, and it is slowly being rolled out to all existing accounts. It’ll take longer than the few hours or days that most Gmail features take to get out to everyone. You’ll know it’s on for your account when you see the Accounts and Import tab (formerly just called Accounts) under Settings.

Everyone can still use POP3 mail fetching and upload your contacts in a CSV file, but this new way is much simpler for basic imports.

Gmail adds 1000+ Smilies and Emoticons

Google Lab introduced a new feature in Gmail that is mind blowing, more than 1000 extra emoticons this feature is called extra emoji has been added to Gmail. Users who wish to enable extra emoticons while composing emails need to first enable it, a one time process. Under ‘Labs’ in user settings, the option is available under the heading ‘Extra Emoji’ which is disabled by default. Once enabled, these emoticons will be available while composing emails. From country flags to digits and some seemingly abstract icons, they are all there.

 

The new  cool and interesting emoticons have made Gmail better.

Google Search Is Available In Gmail

Google Search in GmailAre you a gmail addict and want to do everything from within the searchbox.Now Gmail team has added Google Search box  with in Gmail Inbox, now you do not need to leave your Mail Box when you need to search some thing on Google Search.This Google search box has memory to keep your search history.

Login into your Gmail account and go to Gmail Labs setting page and turn on ‘Google Search’. Another interesting part of this Google Search whenever you search a window will appear at the bottom of your screen with the first few search results.You can search more than one subject,other search will be displayed in new window.

You can click on any search result and it will open up in another window or another tab so you can make sure what you are looking for. You can also add your Search result to your mail by send by email option.

Gmail Now In Hindi, Tamil, Telgu, Kannada And Malyalam

Gmail has launched a new feature that makes it easy to type email in Indian languages, In Hindi, Tamil, Telgu, Kannada And Malyalam.  When you compose a new mail in Gmail, you should now see an icon with an Indian character, as the screenshot here shows. This feature is enabled by default for Gmail users in India. If you do not see this function enabled by default, you will need to go the “Settings” page and enable this option in the “Language” section.

 

                         Gmail currently supports five Indian languages — Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam — and you can select the language of your choice from the drop-down list next to the icon.

 

 

 

When you click the Indian languages icon, you can type words the way they sound in English and Gmail will automatically convert the word to its Indian local language equivalent. For example, App kahan hain this will look like this.
