Microsoft Senior Vice President of Online Services and Windows, Bill Veghte, just told attendees that Microsoft will release the final version of Internet Explorer (IE) 8 to the Web “later this year.” IE8 is considered as the most awaited version among the IE series.IE8 will follow strict web complaints.
Microsoft has been warning Web developers to prep for IE 8, which will be more standards-compliant, to prepare now for IE 8 by adding a new tag to their sites to keep them from breaking when viewed with IE 8.

well considering the fact that IE releases are a few months earlier than an OS one (see IE6 and win XP, IE7 and vista now IE8 and vienna upcoming next year) it is well expected. other than that i am in no mood testing my sites for compatibility with one more stupid IE browser… :S
@strats it would be better if you test bcoz this will affect the visitors who come to your site
if the site is not complaint with IE8 it will not show
lets see what they make it now, IE7 was a realy disappointment for me it lacked some necessary features =/
