Google Adsense Retires Referrals

Google Adsense LogoToday I received an E-Mail from the google adsense team stating that the referral programs provided by adsense will be deactivated soon. The adsense referral codes will no longer show any ads beginning the last week of August.

Google has not mentioned  any specific reason for ending refferrals in their Inside Adsense Blog.

If you currently use referral ads, either to promote Google products or offerings from AdWords advertisers, AdSense Referrals code will no longer display ads beginning the last week of August. You have to take  the following steps before Refferrals retiring:-

  • Remove the referral code from your site
  • Run and save all referrals reports on your desktop

Google is also requiring you to update your adsense account to Google one as a compulsary step
